Senior, Softball

Allison hit a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning in the State semi-final game on Thursday at the Akron Stadium propelling the Firebirds into the state finals for the first time ever.  This blast cleared the fence at the 215-foot mark to give the Firebirds a 2-1, 8 inning win over Perrysburg.  Cummins returned to hit 2 for 2 and to bat in the lone Firebird run in Saturday’s State Championship game loss to Massillon Perry.

This week’s Kemba Credit Union Athlete of the Week feature is the 37th and last of the 2017-18 school year.  Congratulations to all of this year’s honoree’s.  There have been 28 different boys and 28 different girls who have each been honored by receiving an AOW selection one or more times in this school year.  Selectees have been from every grade, freshman through senior. To the seniors, we say goodbye and good luck in the future.  To the underclassmen, we look forward to seeing you on these pages again in the future.  We encourage our fans to keep an eye out for the return of our AOW selections starting when the fall sports seasons begin in early August.
