The Firebirds clutch defense wins another game!

Summary by Bob Ashby:
The Firebirds won a hard, grind it out game. All the scoring came late in the second quarter. Following a Middie 34 yard field goal for the lead, West Quarterback Deontal Christon rushed the ball in from one yard out for the winning TD four plays after Jacob Kiefer forced and recovered a Middletown fumble on the Middie eleven yard line.  Christon crossed the goal line as the halftime horn sounded. Nicklas Hjort kicked the extra point. David Afari was the workhorse of the offense rushing for game highs of 123 yards and 31 carries. The defense was invulnerable in front of the goal line. Anesh Vyas, Issac Kolosik, and Hunter Anderson were all credited with team highs of 6 tackles, one of Kolosiks being a sack.
