Wrestling Weekend Recap

The wrestling team wrapped up a great two weeks of training by competing at multiple events this past Saturday. The varsity team traveled to Dublin Scioto to take part in the 25th Annual Kevin Cleveland Memorial. The team placed 11th in the 21 team field. The team was led by the following placers:

John Doyle 5th @ 120lbs
Austin Huff 4th @ 126lbs
Ben Whatley 2nd @ 138lbs
Riley Meek 8th @ 145lbs
Zaine Brewer 7th @ 160lbs
Jamie Tommer 6th @ 182lbs

A split squad of junior varsity and freshman wrestled in the CIWT held in Conner, KY. They were led by the following placers:

Colby Bales 4th @ 113lbs
Garrett Price 6th @ 126lbs
Will Allen 3rd @ 132lbs
John Binder 6th @ 138lbs
Eli Jones 3rd @ 152lbs
Matthew Levenson 1st @ 160lbs
Joseph Jackson 5th @ 195lbs

Lastly, the Lakota West wrestling team sent it’s first ever all girls team to compete at the Pioneer Girls Classic at Olentangy Orange HS. The team was comprised by sophomore Kendra Hiett, junior Grace Hicks, senior Kate Telles, sophomore Delaney Metzger, and junior Ava Benoit. Kendra Hiett went 4-0 on the day and won the 121lbs championship! Kate Telles went 2-1 and finished 2nd @ 131lbs. Overall the team finished 6th out of 21 teams!
