Girls Swimming Has Great Success At Districts!
On Friday the Lakota West girls swim team finished 4th out of over 30 teams as they competed in the District Championships at Miami University.
The medley relay of Scarbourough, Markely, Allison, and Marini placed 9th. The 200 and 400 relays of Fryer, Glosson, Manning, and Striley both placed second earning an automatic spot at the State Championships in Canton. In the 200 free Ashley Fryer placed fourth, followed by Reagan Manning in 16th Ashley Fryer placed 8th in the 500 free earning her another swim in Canton. Paige Striley was the district champion in both the 100 Fly and 100 Breast events which she will be swimming again in Canton at the State championships. Paige also set new school records in both her events. In the 100 Back senior Jenna Scarborough placed 12th and in joining Striley in the 100 breast Reagan Manning placed 13 and Grace Markley placed 14th.
Paige Striley has already set two new Lakota West (and also Lakota District) records this year (100 breast & 100 fly) which would give her the unprecedented distinction of holding the records for 5 of the 8 individual swimming events at Lakota. CONGRATS PAIGE! #WESTPRIDE
