Future Firebirds Night on Friday, September 10th!

Future Firebirds Flyer

Boosters is excited to be holding Future FireBirds Night this year on Friday, September 10th! This has always been a night full of fun and we believe this year will be even more fun than ever!!!

For anyone that may be new to this event, Future Firebirds Night is an opportunity for West feeder schools to visit West and walk across the football field before the game. Typically students who participated in cheer camp join the West Cheer Leaders for the first half of the game. Some times future band students join Marching Band. Typically a lot of neat things are occurring the entire evening!

This year West is playing Princeton. Students and their families are welcome to arrive at West anytime between 5 and 6pm. Outside of the school and tennis courts there is a picnic shelter where activities will be set up. There will be bounce houses. corn hole, yard games, face painting, balloon art, and a small gift for the future Firebirds. Between 6 and 6:15pm schools will be organized into groups so that we can line up and walk across the football filed in an organized fashion.

There will be signs in the grass indicating your school’s gathering area. In addition each principal will be given a sign on a small paddle that will help your students. Typically students make a poster or banner to carry. Before or after the walk on the field, families can purchase Kona Ice, Tweedles Donuts, and the West Concession Stand . In addition Boosters is holding their annual Pig Roast! Tickets can be purchased in advance and there will be limited tickets available that evening.

A VERY IMPORTANT reminder for families – only Future Firebirds are admitted into the football game for free. Each year families give the gate a terrible time about this. Parents will be required to purchase tickets if they would like to attend the game. Hopefully parents will remember that tickets benefit the school and students – a spirit of kindness is encouraged.

Finally, thank you for all you do for Lakota – we are excited to see you and your students on September 10th. Additional emails will follow and include flyers for you to email as appropriate. We just wanted to get this on the calendar asap! As we are all aware, COVID could change things quickly and we will adapt as necessary. Please let me know if there are any questions, suggestions, or concerns.
