Vanessa Menchofer sparked a come from behind 2-1 soccer win over Ursuline at Firebird Field last night (9/10). The Lions took an early first-half lead and held that lead until Menchofer found the back of the net with an unassisted goal five minutes after the intermission. With only 1:17 showing on the clock Menchofer found Brooke Brockman with a perfect centering pass. Brockman, flashing up the middle slammed the ball past the Lion goalie. For Brockman, a sophomore striker, it was her first varsity goal and it was a game winner. Menchofer was credited with her fourth goal and second assist of the season last night and is the Firebirds season scoring leader. This win evens Lakota West’s record at 3-3 and drops Ursuline Academy to 1-2-2
