Senior Jenna Sitarski (’20), daughter of Brent & Carrie Sitarski, has verbally committed to play soccer and continue her education at Ohio Northern University.

1. What led you to your decision to attend your chosen college? I chose ONU because of its smaller student body and constant success in the women’s soccer program. ONU also offers a wide variety of undergraduate programs. I also really liked ONU’s head coach, Mark Batman, and his style of teaching.

2. What other schools did you consider? I considered other Division 3 colleges like Wittenberg and Centre College but didn’t like any of them as much as I liked ONU.

3. Do you know what you want to study?  I am thinking about studying Civil Engineering at ONU.

4. When did this school come into the picture?  ONU came into the picture my sophomore year after they watched me play in a showcase.

5. Have you visited the school? If so, when? How did it go?  I have visited ONU a couple of times for soccer camps and tours of the campus. Each time I go up there it makes me even more excited to go next fall. When I step on the campus it feels like home and where I want to spend my next four years after high school.

6. Did anyone help you through the recruiting process? What kind of help did they provide? My club coach and high school coach both helped me get in contact with the head coach at ONU. My club coach helped me get started with the recruiting process by getting in touch with him. My high school coach also helped me get in touch with the head coach.

7. What are your strengths?  I would say my strengths include leadership, listening, problem-solving, and hard-working.

8. What do you think you need to improve before starting college? Before I start college, I will need to work on my time-management and being able to deal with balancing the stress of a college sport and academics.

9. Please list any special awards, accomplishments or distinctions you may have earned: I have received High Honor Roll along with getting a varsity letter in soccer every year in high school. I also am in the National Honor Society and treasurer of HOSA at Lakota West.

Congrats Jenna! #WestPride
