Varsity Boys Cross country team finished first out of 13 teams at the Eaton Cross Country Invitational on Saturday, September 14. Top performers for West were Zach Beneteau finishing first overall with a career-best 15:57. The third-fastest time in Lakota West history. Cole Cronk was 5th overall and second for the Firebirds. Rounding out the scoring was the trio of Carter Rust, Zach Plotkin, and Kaleb Martin.
The Junior Varsity Boys team also took home first place honors edging Springboro by a score of 30-31.  Hunter Levett led the way finishing first overall. He was followed by Connor Davis, Asher Martin, Matthew Levenson, and Ben Zimmerer.
For the second week in a row, Katelyn Benoit led the West Girls Varsity team with a time of 22:00. Also scoring for the Firebirds were Gwyn Barnholtz, Hanna Mulholland, Kassie Martin, and Lucy Schaefer. The top placers for the Firebirds in the girls JV race were Megan Klare, Grace Wheeler, and Anna McEwen.The varsity teams will be in action on Saturday at the Centerville Saturday Night Lights meet.
