West Chester, OH (February 5, 2020)

Lakota West Athletic Department hosted an athletic signing event on Wednesday afternoon in the community room on the first day of the NCAA Football Regular Signing period.  Seniors Jake Kieffer (Morehead State University) and Isaac Kolosik (Butler University) signed their commitment letters to continue their academic and athletic careers at their respective schools.  They become the 162nd and 163rd football players in Lakota West history to make the college football commitment and raise the total to four football players from the Class of ‘2020.  Seniors David Afari (Miami University) and Daved Jones (University of Cincinnati) signed on the first day of the NCAA Early Signing Period on December 18th, 2019. The next Lakota West signing event will occur on Wednesday, April 15th, 3pm in the Community Room for all remaining athletes regardless of sport. If an athlete plans to participate on the April 15th date, please contact your head coach and Mr. Cronk (Jason.Cronk@lakotaonline.com)

Jake Kieffer-Football-Morehead State University

 

Kieffer is a two year varsity starter on the defensive line for the Firebirds. The 6’1”, 240 lb Kieffer was named 2nd team All-GMC his senior season. He finishes his career at Lakota West with 45 total tackles, four sacks and one fumble recovery. “Jake’s blend of quickness, athleticism, and toughness made it hard for opposing offenses to deal with him. Jake’s love for the game and his country was symbolized in leading the team onto the field with our nation’s flag,” said Lakota West Head Football Coach Tom Bolden.

Isaac Kolosik-Football-Butler University

The 6’2” 215 lb linebacker has led the Firebirds in tackles over the last two seasons.  Kolosik was named 1st team All-GMC in 2018 and 2nd team All-GMC in 2019. He finishes his career with 120 total tackles, 9.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and one interception. “Isaac has led a very good defense the last two years in tackles.  He also now holds the career sack record at Lakota West.  He has a great blend of football IQ and tenacity,” said Lakota West Head Football Coach Tom Bolden.
